READING LIST

The best thing you can do for your child is read. You
must become an expert yourself so that you don't have to
rely on teachers and other professionals, who often know little
or nothing about the gifted. Be your child's advocate!

PERIODICALS
I have been receiving a number of Journals on the gifted
and creative, and have decided that the one most helpful for
parents and professionals is the ROEPER REVIEW, published by
Roeper City and Country School, P.O. Box 329, Bloomfield Hills,
MI, 48013. I have always found the writings by Annemarie
Roeper very perceptive and I would guess she has worked with
many of these youngsters!
Also very good for those interested in home schooling is
to contact John Holt Associates, 269 Massachusetts Ave, Cam-
bridge, MA, 02140. Through our own research we have found that
most of the families who are attempting to find alternatives
to the schools are parents of gifted and creative children.
Other material is available from:
Dr. E. Paul Torrance
Georgia Studies of Creative Behavior 183 Cherokee Ave Athens,
GA, 30606.

PS: Two more "further reading" books:
Silbermann, Charles E.: CRISIS IN THE CLASSROOM Random House.
1970
